چکیده

We compute the effect of local electrons on the CMB temperature anisotropies. The number density and distribution of free electrons in our Galaxy has been accurately measured from pulsar dispersion measurements. Because of their distribution, the dynamics of our Galaxy, and the Galaxy peculiar velocity with respect to the Hubble flow, these free electrons leave a frequency-independent imprint on the cosmic microwave background (CMB). In particular, the coherent motion of the free electrons with respect to us and to the CMB rest frame produce a kinetic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich signal. We compute this effect and we note that the large-scale antisymmetry of the signal gives it an angular power spectrum with a sawtooth pattern, where even multipoles are suppressed with respect to the odd ones. We find the signal to be small ( 2 K) and subdominant compared to the primary CMB and other foreground signals. However, since the parameters of this model are constrained by other independent astrophysical observations, it can be taken into account if more precise measurements of the primordial signal are required. Kinetic Sunyaev-zel’dovich Effect from Halo Rotation

We discuss the kinetic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (SZ) contribution to cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature fluctuations due to the coherent rotational velocity component of electrons within halos. For typical clusters of mass a few times 10 M , this rotational scattering effect produces a distinct dipole-like temperature distribution with a peak fluctuation of the order a few μK, depending on...

Secondary CMB Anisotropies from Cosmological Reionization

We use numerical simulation of cosmological reionization to calculate the secondary CMB anisotropies in a representative flat low density cosmological model. We show that the kinetic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect (scattering off of moving electrons in the ionized intergalactic medium) is dominated by the nonlinear hydrodynamic and gravitational evolution of the density and velocity fields, rather t...

Dark matter annihilation and non-thermal Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect: I. galaxy cluster

In this work we calculate the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (SZ) effect due to the e+e− from dark matter (DM) annihilation in galaxy clusters. Two candidates of DM particle, (1) the weakly-interacting massive particle (WIMP) and (2) the light dark matter (LDM) are investigated. For each case, we also consider several DM profiles with and without central cusp. We generally find smaller signals than previou...

baryonic matter distribution in the large-scale structures is one of the main questions in cosmology. This distribution can provide valuable information regarding  the processes of galaxy formation and evolution. On the other hand, the missing baryon problem is still under debate. One of the most important cosmological structures for studying the rate and  the distribution of the baryons is gal...

Sunyaev-zel’dovich Effect by Multiple Scattering : Numerical Solution of the Transfer Equations

The radiative transfer equations for multiple inverse Compton scattering of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMBR) by the hot intra-cluster electrons are solved numerically. The spherical isothermal and inhomogeneous β model has been considered for the electron distribution. The anisotropy of the CMBR caused by scattering, known as thermal Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect, along the radial a...
